After a successful Three Rivers Poker Challenge ended the February tournament schedule, The Pittsburgh Poker Open returns for another massive series at Rivers Casino. The series will run from March 17th to April 4th and culminate with the PPO Spring Series Poker Night in America Main Event.
Players Battle It Out At Rivers Casino's First Televised TournamentPoker legends from across the country brought their skills to Pittsburgh's first televised poker tournament, at Rivers Casino.
Matt Glantz, who oversees poker operations for Rush Street Gaming, and the Rivers Poker tournament staff have rolled out a schedule that boasts nearly 50 events, including a wide variety of structures and buy-in points to allow everyone to get a piece of the PPO action. Alongside the PPO PNIA Main Event, Poker Night in America televised cash games will run, with live qualifiers for those high stakes cash games allowing players to play against some of the country’s best. Those lineups will include Glantz, Shaun Deeb, David Baker, Mario Ho, Alec Torrelli, Matt Brady and plenty of other big name players.

Last year, Pittsburgh's Rivers Casino, which opened in 2009, put itself on the poker map when Phil Hellmuth topped a field of 254 entrants to win the Pittsburgh Poker Open Main Event for $54,000. That tournament was a part of a larger Poker Night in America (PNIA) festival, which will return to the venue for a third time from November 5-23, 2015.
The latest iteration of the Pittsburgh Poker Open will run for 23 days, culminating with the $1,000 Main Event – which will feature a $100,000 guarantee and two starting flights — from November 20-23. Hellmuth is already confirmed to attend.
What's more, three days prior to the tournament finale an invite-only high-stakes poker cash game will be recorded for TV. Among those confirmed to play are Shaun Deeb, David Eldridge, Matt Glantz, Jennifer Harman, Phil Laak, Dennis Phillips, Mark 'Pegasus' Smith, Jack Schanbacher, Tom Schneider, Jennifer Tilly, and of course Hellmuth.

While the cash game is invite-only, players will have a chance to buy into the game, appear on television, and compete among the best poker personalities in the world. That's because PNIA will host three onsite $1,000 buy-in single-table satellites at Noon on November 20-22. Each satellite winner will receive a seat and $10,000 buy-in into the big game.
Finally, poker fans will be able to enjoy the Pittsburgh Poker Open as three days of cash games, plus one added day which includes the championship finale, will be live-streamed daily on Twitch with hole cards shown and commentary provided by David Tuchman.
